Welcome back to our old friends, and welcome to school to our new friends! We can't wait to get our year started. This year we have three returning PEP 5 Hour students and two new students. We have three teachers, Ms. Sydni, Ms. Kerrie, and Ms. Kristine, and we have one intern from Sherwood High School, Ms. Nancy! We are looking forward to a great year together. This month we will focus on getting used to the school routine and learning school rules. We will read books about school and participate in activities relating to school activities and getting to know one another. As the year gets started, please remember to check your child's backpack and folder every day for notes about his/her day, special art projects, and important school information. Here are some pictures from our first day in PEP!
Stay tuned for more pictures of our learning in PEP 5 Hour!
Important dates and Sherwood information:
Beginning the 2019-2020 school year Sherwood Elementary School will be implementing Positive Behaviors Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Restorative Justice. We will differentiate this information for our PEP students by focusing on being kind, being a good friend, having safe bodies, and using our words (through spoken words, pictures, signs, or voice output devices). Below is more information about PBIS and Restorative Justice from the county.

- Restorative Justice is a powerful approach to discipline that focuses on repairing harm through inclusive processes that engage all stakeholders. Restorative justice takes an approach that resolves conflict and prevents harm. Restorative justice enables those who have been harmed to convey the impact of the harm to those responsible, and for those responsible to acknowledge this impact and take steps to put it right.
