We got our play worthy snowfall in December and decided to bring the fun inside. During recess we took our shovels outside and scooped up a heaping pile of snow. We got out our watercolors and decided to paint the snow. We had some experienced fourth graders join us and everyone seemed to have a great time painting and even holding the snow!!
Today we finished up our gingerbread/family unit by decorating our very own gingerbread boys and girls. We had a lot of fun squeezing all the different colored icing onto our cookies and then adding different candies as eyes, noses, and buttons. We all tasted our cookies! Some friends loved their cookies, others preferred to eat the candy without the cookie! Everybody had a great time! The PEP team here at Sherwood wants to wish everybody happy holidays and a very wonderful New Year! We can't wait to see you all in 2014!!!!! After a few snow days we are finally back at school! This week we started our gingerbread theme! We are reading "The Gingerbread Family"! We started the week by making gingerbread boys and girls out of scented playdough! It was a lot of fun! We aldo decorated our dollhouse to look like gingerbread! We took a small break from gingerbread to enjoy the snow, we used watercolors to paint the snow different colors. We loved feeling the cold snow and then making it change colors! Winter is fun! |
